Commerce with entrepreneur patent extended till end of 2018

Chisinau, 16 December /MOLDPRES/ – Patent holders who practice retail activity, will have two years more, until 31 December 2018, to switch to another form of work organization provided by law, according to legislative changes adopted today in two readings by Parliament.
Initially, the development of retail trade by patent holders was permitted until the end of 2016, being developed a simplified taxation of individuals practicing trade and which did not register as entrepreneurs.
Following the proposed amendments, the patentees organized several protests demanding patents’ cancellation in 2017. The Economy Ministry organized a series of public consultations on this issue without successful identification of viable solutions. Therefore, it was decided to extend the right to carry out patent-based retail entrepreneur, for a period of two additional years.
The new legislative provision extends only to patent holders who will hold on 31 December 2016 patents available for retail stalls, kiosks, pavilions and food trade, provided that they carry out their activities only in authorized market-places.
However, the project provides for patent tax increase. Thus, retail stalls, counters, kiosks, pavilions of markets fee will be 540 lei to 360 lei as it is now in Chisinau and Balti and the trade of foodstuffs local tax will be 700 lei compared to 540 lei.
Currently, there are 12 thousand people who operate patent-based trades in Moldova.
