Moldovan deputy premier with Romanian ambassador visit Varnita locality

Chisinau, 16 December /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan together with Romanian Ambassador to Moldova, Daniel Ionita, paid today a visit to Varnita village, Anenii Noi district, the Office for reintegration policies’ communication and media relations department has reported.

Deputy prime minister’s goal of the visit was to meet with citizens to get informed about the socio-economic situation and problems in the village and to discuss in order to strengthen the dialogue between central and local public authorities.

Gheorghe Balan reiterated the call by the local authorities to be actively involved in the development of viable projects to attract considerable investment in the village.

Today meeting provided the opportunity to address the topic documentation of population from Transnistria, social and economic issues and health and artificially created impediments to the free movement of citizens of the so-called structures in Transnistria.

The officials visited local educational and social institutions, including Varniţa Health Center, built and equipped with modern equipment under the "Confidence Building Measures", financed by the European Union; Multipurpose community center "ASCLEPIO", for reintegration of the elderly and disabled, built with the financial support of the Government through the reintegration program activities; Kindergarten "Romanita" rehabilitated within the same program "Confidence Building Measures" and sporting objectives constructed or upgraded through national and international programs.

Referred to it, Ambassador Daniel Ionita mentioned that Romania would provide future support to achieve new development projects for the population’s benefit.

Vice Premier Gheorghe Balan gave assurance that he would analyze the situation closely and provide the necessary support to overcome the existing difficulties.
