Moldova attends meeting of high officials of Eastern Partnership

Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/- The 16th meeting of high officials of the Eastern Partnership was held in Brussels on 16 December. Attending the event were representatives of the EU institutions and member states, as well as those of partner states. The Moldovan delegation was led by Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Daniela Morari, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media relations service has reported.
The event represented a good opportunity to exchange opinions about implementation of priorities agreed at the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga. The talks were focused on strengthening the institutions and good governance, economic development and opportunities for access to the EU market, interconnection, mobility and inter-human ties. Morari reiterated Moldova’s commitment to the Eastern Partnership, pointing out the willingness to host informal meetings of foreign ministers and of energy ones in the first quarter of 2017.
The talks were also focused on Partnership development prospects in the context of organizing next summit in November 2017. A special attention was paid to the proposals of European Commission and European External Action Service, launched on the eve of the meeting, as regards the goals set by the Eastern Partnership for 2020. Also, Morari had meetings with representatives of cabinet of Commissioner Johannes Hahn, high officials of Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations and Department of Justice.
