Moldova to benefit from ten million euros to modernise water supply networks in northern region

Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/ – The Parliament ratified today a grant agreement between Moldova and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) through which it will be implemented "Apa Nord Moldova" (Water North Moldova) project.
The document stipulates financing for modernization of water supply networks of settlements in the north of Moldova. The offered grant is worth €10 million, which represents one third of the total project value, and from which will benefit about 400 thousand citizens from localities of Soroca, Drochia, Floresti, Riscani, Singerei and Balti.
The implementation of project "Apa Nord Moldova" will provide residents of the northern part of Moldova access to safe drinking water, that will help improve their quality of life and environmental protection.
The grant agreement between Moldova and EBRD on implementation of project "Apa Nord Moldova" was signed on 01 August 2016, in Chisinau.
