Moldovan PM meets Belorussian vice premier

Chisinau, 23 December /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip had today a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusyj, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Head of Government noted the dynamic nature of bilateral relations, recalling in this regard constructive discussions held during the visit of Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobeakov, in Moldova and the real good dialogue which he had with President of Belarus Alexander Lucashenko in CIS meeting at Bishkek.
Pavel Filip said that these discussions generated tangible results, including the creation of joint working groups on cooperation in seeds, medicines, agricultural and mineral fertilizers sectors.
In this context, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusyj, said the Belarusian side was interested in further cooperation with Moldova in the wine sector and in the production of tractors and trolley-buses. The official proposed convening Moldovan-Belarusian trade-economic collaboration committee twice a year so that all measures to be taken for the benefit of both states, to be discussed and implemented operatively.
At his part, Prime Minister Pavel Filip supported the idea of convening more frequently of joint intergovernmental economic and commercial cooperation committee, noting that the list of joint projects was impressive and there was a great potential of bilateral economic, cultural and humanitarian relations.
Belarus ranks among the top eight most important trade partners of Moldova. The trade between the two countries amounted to $215.7 million in 2015.
