Moldovan parliament convenes last meeting this year

Chisinau, 23 December /MOLDPRES/ – The members of Moldovan Parliament met today in the last session of the year.
Speaker Andrian Candu said that during the autumn session, there were compiled over 750 reports, opinions and amendments to draft laws. "Although there were periods in which we seldom met in plenary, we worked hard at committee level, organized a record number of public hearings and debates. We managed to adopt the amendment of the Constitution and thus to conclude successfully the reform of the prosecution. This year we recovered arrears accumulated in 2009 in justice field. We can say with confidence that Parliament honored its commitments to the society. Moldova has got reformed prosecution, a new map of courts and justice trending release the so-called political factor. Continuously, with the society we are entitled to ask for results and effectiveness of prosecutors and magistrates. We want a country free of corruption and where the law is respected by all," said Andrian Candu.
The speaker noted that was managed the recovery of arrears accumulated in the past and as a result it was obtained a program with the Internationally Monetary Fund (IMF). "We have a reinforced majority in Parliament that comes with political support for government. We aim to make Moldova eligible to join the European Union (EU) and with the support and contribution of people who want to live well and safe at home, we will succeed," said Andrian Candu.
Spring session of Parliament will begin in February 2017.
