State social insurance budget law for 2017 to be published in Moldovan official journal

Chisinau, 26 December /MOLDPRES/- The state social insurance budget law for 2017 will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 27 December.
The document sees revenues amounting to 17.5 billion lei and expenses worth 17.5 billion lei. State budget transfers to the state social insurance budget in 2017 will amount to 5.53 billion lei, including 1.4 billion lei is provided for covering the state social insurance budget deficit.
The expenses on the state social insurance budget in last years are still rising and this trend is maintained for 2017. Next year the costs are expected to increase by 9.6 per cent against those approved for 2016.
The law provides for maintaining the total tariff of state social insurance contribution of 29 per cent, of which 23 per cent will be paid by the employer and 6 per cent will pay employee. Also, the rate of state social insurance contribution of 22 per cent to the fund of remuneration of persons employed under the individual employment contract in the agricultural sector will not be changed, of which 6 per cent will be subsidized from the state budget.
The law on mandatory health insurance funds (FAOAM) for 2017 will be published in the Official Journal too. It sees revenues amounting to 6,141,657,400 lei and expenses worth 6,234,451,300 lei, with a deficit of 92,793,900 lei.
The premium of mandatory healthcare insurance was set of 4,056 lei per person (in 2015), while preserving cuts provided for 2016. Respectively, it is scheduled to accumulate 93,288,0 thousand lei corresponding to the 2016 amount.
The largest part of revenues and expenses will go to paying medical services – 97.1 per cent of the revenues (6,054,911,500 lei), by over 20 per cent more than in 2016 will be transferred to the reserve fund (50,701,900 lei), and the prevention fund and the one of development and modernization of public healthcare providers will increase by over 50 per cent (25,000,0 thousand lei each). At the same time, the fund for managing compulsory medical insurance system will remain at the 2016 amount (78,837,900 lei).
