Moldova, Germany sign agreement on technical cooperation

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur today signed an agreement between the Moldovan and German governments on technical cooperation, aimed at improving the economic and social development of the country. The document was signed by German Ambassador to Chisinau Ulrike Knotz, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media relations service has reported.
The agreement was signed on the basis of the 10 July 2014 intergovernmental agreement on development cooperation, and sees promoting three projects amounting to 6 million euros, referring to modernizing the local public services, increasing quality and efficiency in the medical assistance and advising the prime minister in economic development.
Also, the German side expressed willingness to offer other 10 million euros to the Moldovan government within a new project – “Sanitation initiative”, meant to improve the people’s access to sanitation, especially, in schools and education institutions.
Collaboration between the Moldovan and German governments has experienced a significant boost during 2016 in line with the EU-Moldova Association Agreement, streamlined to promote the democratic reforms and alignment to EU.
