Oil products imports through Moldova's eastern border to be extended till 1 July 2017

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/ – Imports of oil products through the eastern border of Moldova for Transnistrian economic agents will be extended until 01 July 2017 according to changes made today by the Government to its own decision from 09 November 2016.
Customs will set customs clearance on provisional basis, until 01 July 2017, at customs post Bender-2 of all oil products introduced through Ocnita crossing point. The move came at the request of traders on the right bank, practicing the import of fuel lubricants, as well as to ensure control supply of Moldova, including the Transnistrian region with petroleum products.
In August, Ukraine cut imports of oil products for the Transnistrian region via railway through the border crossing points Colbasna – Slobodca and Cuciurgan. Thus traffic was redirected through fuel border crossing point Ocnita was subsequently transported to railway stations Ribnita and Bender-2. In August – September 2016, state company "Calea Ferată a Moldovei" (CFM) (Railway of Moldova) transported for economic agents from the Transnistrian region 280 cars with petrol and diesel, shown in the explanatory note attached to the draft decision.
After discussions with the authorities in Kiev and the agreements reached within the working groups for rail transport and customs matters between Chisinau and Tiraspol, it was decided provisional application of customs control at station Bender 2.
