Moldovan government to increase social benefits

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/ – Cabinet of Ministers approved in its meeting today, the increase starting from 01 January 2017, the monthly allowance for children placed at the family house service and foster care service, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

According to the document, the monthly allowance amount for a child maintenance of in the service of the house of family type will be increased by 100 lei, representing 750 lei per month, and allowance for child care in the service of foster care will be increased to 31 lei per day. The cost increase is over one million lei and will be covered from the budgets of local authorities.

Also today, the government approved the Regulation on the establishment and payment of single material aid for the recovery of people who suffered from the catastrophe at Chernobyl nuclear plant. As such, the amount of material aid will be determined based on the average monthly salary in Moldova established for the previous year and will be determined based on the degree of disability and the participation of people during the liquidation of consequences of Chernobyl accident.

As a result, 2 average wages will receive persons with severe disabilities, accentuated and average; 1.5 average wages –subdivisions risk employees remained disabled from damage. While people who participated in liquidation of consequences of the Chernobyl disaster in 1986 – 1987 at Atomic Power Station (APS) Chernobyl will receive an average salary each, and the delegates during the 1988 – 1990 will receive material aid worth 50 per cent of the average monthly salary in Moldova for the previous year.
