Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/- Regulation on setting and paying compensation for transport services will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 30 December.
The document provides for merging the two financial aids offered to disabled people for public transportation expenses (compensation for travel in urban, suburban and interurban public transport and annual compensation for costs of transport services) into one – compensation for transport services.
The amount of compensation shall be set by territorial social assistance structures and financial means are earmarked from the state budget by special purpose transfers to the budgets of administrative-territorial units of the second level. Compensation for one quarter, except for Chisinau and Balti, is 138 lei for people with severe disabilities and children with special needs up to 18 years and 69 lei for people with sharp disabilities. The quarterly compensations for the two cities vary between 135 and 360 lei.
For 2017-2019, 76.1 million lei is scheduled from the state budget for 181714 beneficiaries to cover transport costs of disabled people.
The above-mentioned regulation will enter into force on 1 January 2017.
