Moldovan parliament to set new institution for solving complaints in public procurement

Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/- The decision on establishment, organization and operation of the National Agency for Solving Complaints will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 30 December.
Under the document, the new institution will be an independent public authority responsible to the parliament, with competence to settle contestations made in the public procurement procedures. The agency will have 15 employees, 7 of them will have the status of advisors for solving complaints. Director General and deputy head, as well as advisors will be appointed by parliament by majority vote for a 7-year-term without the possibility to renew the mandate.
The agency will have its own balance sheet and a stamp with the State Emblem and its name. It will follow the Constitution, international treaties, which Moldova is party to, the law on public procurement and other regulations in this area.
The above-mentioned decision will enter into force on 1 January 2017.
