Moldova's Integrity Council convenes first meeting

Chisinau, 30 December /MOLDPRES/ – The Integrity Council of the National Integrity Authority (ANI) convened its first meeting today.
The meeting was attended by all seven members of the Council. The meeting was presided by the head of ANI Anatolie Donciu.
"The Council is a competent body in the fight against corruption and integrity of public persons. Related to this activity, the first law was adopted on 19 July 2002 on the obligation of public officials to declare their wealth and properties. In the Council, we will analyze various situations and their consequences. At the same time, the Council will organize an effective monitoring of public officials," said Anatolie Donciu.
The Board of Integrity Council consists of: Victor Micu, the Superior Council of Magistracy, Mircea Rosioru, Superior Council of Prosecutors, Viorel Rusu, Congress of Local Authorities, Director of the Resource Centre for Human Rights, Sergiu Ostaf, from Parliament, former Minister of Justice, Victoria Iftodi – government representative, Dumitru Tira, from civil society, and Tatiana Paşcovschi, communication officer of the public association "Promo-Lex".
All members of the ANI Integrity Council are appointed for five years.
Law act 132, which provides forming of Agency was passed to voting on 17 June 2016 within integrity package. It stipulates the creation of the Integrity Council in which competence is organizing the competition for the selection of ANI Chairman and Deputy Chairman, as well as verification of conflicts of interests of ANI.
