Moldovan president conveys message of condolences to Turkish counterpart

Chisinau, 2 January /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon conveyed a message of condolences to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the terrorist attack occurred on the night of 31 December 2016 to 1 January 2017 in Istanbul, Turkey, resulted in 39 dead and 69 injured, the presidential press service has reported.

The message reads:

“Your Excellency,

I learned with deep sadness the news about the armed, unjustified and intolerable attack committed in Istanbul, which resulted in dozens dead and injured.

In these difficult moments, on behalf of Moldova and on my own behalf, please convey my people’s sympathy and most sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. Our thoughts also go to the injured, wishing them speedy recovery.

Moldova strongly condemns this bloody act and is in solidarity with authorities of Turkey in fight against terrorism”.
