Chisinau, 3 January /MOLDPRES/ - The State Tax Service today published the first results of the levying of the tax on wealth, which entered into force on 1 July 2016. In terms of tax on wealth, the state budget revenues amount to 34.83 million lei.
The sum of the tax on wealth, estimated to be collected in the state budget, stood at 50 million lei. Under the legislation, the private people who, according to data contained in the real estate register on 1 November 2016, owned real estate for living, including holiday houses (except for land plots), as well as shares, the value of which is estimated at 1.5 million lei and more, and the overall area is 120 square metres and more, are subjects of taxation on wealth.
The owners pay a tax on wealth of 0.8 per cent of the estimated value of these assets, assessed by territorial cadastral bodies.
According to the legal provisions, the taxable base of the object of taxation, which represents object of a real estate loan (mortgage loan) or of a financial leasing contract, is diminished by the sum left till the full payment of the loan or of the obligations dealing with the carrying out of the financial leasing contract, the Tax Service said.
The deadline for the payment of the tax on wealth is 25 December of the present year.
Most subjects of taxation on wealth, as many as 2,638 ones, have residence in Chisinau, 37 ones in Balti, 23 have residence in Ialoveni and the others live in other districts. There are 1,797 “disciplined” subjects, who paid off the tax on wealth worth 32.47 million lei in all till 26 December, and another 141 ones made the payments on the next two days. The delay increase (penalty) is calculated for each day of non-payment in term in the personal account of the taxpayer.
