Meteorologists issue orange code of strong snowfalls in central, southern Moldova

Chisinau, 6 January /MOLDPRES/- Meteorologists have issued orange code of strong snowfalls, blizzards and snowdrifts in the centre and south of the country on 6-7 January.
The State Hydro-meteorological Service has forecast strong snowfall in the central and southern districts of the country, so the snow will be 7-17 cm. “The code came into force today starting from 08:00 and will continue until tomorrow night 3:00 pm,” the head of the Centre for Weather Forecasts, Ghenadie Rosca, said.
At the same time, the meteorologists announced that on 6-9 January, the yellow code would be too. Thus, during the day, the air temperature will drop by – 6 – 11 degrees, and the northwest wine will blow up to 17-22 meters per second.
Next days, the air temperature will decrease to – 14 degrees during the day, and night-time air temperature will drop to – 17 degrees.
In northern country, the air temperature will not exceed – 15 degrees during the day and – 18 degrees overnight. In southern, thermometers will show up to – 13 degrees during the day and to – 16 degrees at night.
