Chisinau, 7 January /MOLDPRES/ - The old-style Orthodox Christians today mark Christmas – Birth of God.
On this occasion, hundreds of believers attended a liturgy officiated by a group of priests led by Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova, Most Right Reverend Vladimir.
During the liturgy, the secretary of the Metropolitan See of Chisinau and All Moldova, priest Vadim Cheibas read the Pastoral Letter of Most Right Reverend Vladimir to Christians on the occasion of the Birth of God, followed by a sermon.
Inter alia, the pastoral letter reads that the 2016 year brought more holy achievements to the Orthodox Church of Moldova. Thus, the Metropolitan Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni and Saint Agafia of the Cuselauca Monastery were canonized. The clergy and the Orthodox people endeavour to fulfill their Christian mission by love for the fellows, thus showing love for God.
At the end of the liturgy, children received presents on behalf of the Metropolitan See of Chisinau and All Moldova.
