Moldovan government approves exemptions from state tax for submitting applications on summoning to appear in court

Chisinau, 11 January /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved a string of legislative amendments concerning cases of exemption from collection of the state tax for applications on summoning to appear in court. The completions carried out were necessary to facilitate access to justice, by cutting related costs and spending, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
According to the new provisions, victims of domestic violence who apply to court for the compensation of the material or moral damage will be exempted from the state tax. At the same time, people who suffered in the wake of offences and demand compensation of the damages brought will not pay for the action at law.
The draft law also sees exempting from the state tax of economic agents which demand that the court declares null the acts issued by public administration bodies, enterprises and organizations which provide services of public interest. Presently, this tax is of 200 lei. At the same time, the government made amendments to the calculation of the tax for considering economic litigations; this tax will account for three per cent of the total sum of the civil action.
The document is to be submitted to parliament for adoption.
