More educational institutions still closed

Chisinau, 12 January /MOLDPRES/- The Education Ministry announced that 22 kindergartens and one secondary school remain closed today, due to bad weather conditions or technical failures.

It is about a middle school from Cantemir district, where 74 pupils study, and 22 kindergartens from six districts.

“Under the decisions by the Ist level local public authorities, 9 preschool institutions from Leova with 243 children, 6 in Ocnita (312 children), 4 – Cahul (244 children) and one kindergarten in Briceni (74 children), Causeni (151 children) and Nisporeni (25 children) stopped working. Also, due to failure of buses, pupils were not transported on three routes, and because of the road condition, they from Telenesti district could not be transported to school. In all, 60 pupils were not transported to the district institutions,” a communiqué by the institution reads.

According to the ministry, in 26 districts, including in Balti and Chisinau municipalities, all educational institutions are operating as normal. The authorities have earlier announced that all missed days would be recovered by pupils during the rest period.

The meteorologists announce for the next days the air temperatures of – 16 degrees at night and +3 degrees during the day.
