Salaries of Moldovan judges, prosecutors to be annually re-examined on 1 April

Chisinau, 12 January /MOLDPRES/ - The salaries of judges and prosecutors will be annually re-examined on 1 April, within the allocations provided on the purpose in the national public budget, according to a notification by the government, published in the 13 January issue of Moldova’s Official Journal.
At the same time, the quantum of the monthly average salary on the economy, carried out in 2016, will be presented by the Labour, Social Protection and Family Ministry to be published in the Official Journal.
The average salary on the economy stood at 5,050 lei in 2016, while in 2017, it will amount to 5,300 lei.
Under the law on paying wages to judges and prosecutors, the salary of the judge is set depending on the level of the law court where he/she works and the length of service. Thus, the value of the salary varies between three and five average wages on the economy.
At the same time, the prosecutor’s salary is established in the ratio of the judge’s salary, taking into account the level of the prosecutor’s office where he/she works and the length of service. In this case, the value of the salary varies between 2.7 and 4.5 average wages on the economy.
The 13 January issue of the Official Journal will also contain a government’s approval on an amendment, which sees that the ascertaining agents of the subdivisions of the Interior Ministry’s General Police Inspectorate, who contributed to the collection of revenues to the state budget by considering contraventions, will receive 25 per cent of the concerned collections’ sums.
