Moldovan Joint Control Commission meets firstly in 2017

Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/ – The Joint Control Commission (CUC) convened in a meeting today for the first time this year, the bureau for reintegration has informed.
An institution press release informs that within the meeting lieutenant – colonel Veceaslav Polovinkin was approved for the position of the military observer on behalf of the Russian Federation. Simultaneously, it approved three reports on the Security Zone situation.
"Following to the agreed patterns at the meeting of co-chairmen of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Moldova and the Transnistrian region from 12 January 2017, CUC passed to examine the subject case on Ensuring freedom of movement in the Security Zone, taking into consideration a proposed earlier examined in this respect the suggestions presented by Ukraine representatives and of OSCE Mission to Moldova", states the press release.
As a result, it was managed to adopt a constructive decision, by means of which it was agreed to initiate the development of a mechanism to monitor the situation in the Security Zone and the need for efficient activity of military observers, so that at the request of one of the military chiefs senior of Peace-keeping Forces, it is ensured a mandatory onsite exit their case on the occurrence circumstances from 20.05.2010 №700 listing evolution strategy, reads a release version issued by the Reintegration Bureau.
The officials from the Bureau says that "the decision concerned is the first positive step contributing to unlocking of CUC’s work, which out of institutionalized considerations of Moldovan independent component entered into a stalemate lasting due to the lack of progress addressing the ensurance the free movement within perimeter of responsibility of peacekeepers".
The Moldovan delegation expressed the hope that Commission would return normal work on exercising statutory powers, tasks assigned, maintaining Peace stability and security in the area.
