Moldovan government examined over 3500 citizens' petitions in 2016

Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/ – There were addressed 3439 petitions to the Government during 2016, including in electronic form, over 25 per cent more than in 2015. Most complaints were received from residents of Chisinau, 48.5 per cent, Balti (3.5 per cent) and Soroca (3.1 per cent), Rezina (3.0 per cent), Orhei (2.8 per cent) and Cahul (2.2 per cent), the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The main areas of concern for petitioners were the work of law enforcement, humanitarian aid material, the method of pension determining and calculating, work of central and local public administration authorities, as well as providing health care and decent jobs. At the same time, there were received 327 collective-owned petitions which addressed the issue of wages in education and health.

According functional competences, 2579 petitions were examined by ministries and central authorities, while 627 petitions by local government authorities. The most concerned institutions are: the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Protection, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Prosecutor General's Office and the Chisinau City Hall.
