Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ – The efforts of Moldovan government for business development and direct investment security in Moldova are increasingly appreciated abroad. Moody's, which specializes in developing country ratings on the security of investments and avoiding situations of risk, changed the rating of Moldova from "Negative" to "Stable", the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The changing qualifier comes as a result of reducing risks for financial assistance after signing by authorities, at the end of 2016, of an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as well as due to promotion of a new legal framework for regulating the activities of banking institutions in Moldova. At the same time, Moldova's new rating is an appreciation of political stability in 2016.
Also, the international agency Moody's experts acknowledged the measures taken to ensure the independence of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) and transparency of financial and banking institutions. Similarly, there were also considered the public administration reform benefits, which come to boosting productivity of authorities and to reduce the influence of lobbyists, also those of pension reform, which will contribute positively to improving fiscal sustainability of Moldova.
