Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/- All schools in the country have resumed their activity and operate under the regular schedule, the Education Ministry announced today.
At the same time, the ministry informed that because of technical malfunction of heating system, two kindergartens in Iargara town, Leova district, (105 children) and Prichindel kindergarten in Vinatori village, Nisporeni district, (25 children) remained closed.
“The local public authorities are currently taking repair works of the heating system, which will be completed this week. In other districts, including in Balti and Chisinau municipalities, all educational institutions are operating as normal,” a press release by the institution reads.
Deputy head of the Education Ministry’s pre-university education department Mariana Goras said that the missed days would be recovered by pupils according to a schedule set by each institution individually. “There are two ways to recover lost hours, which were approved by the ministry. Days may be recovered during holidays or the educational institutions add overtime hours to the existing schedule. For instance, Cahul and Cantemir districts decided to recover them during spring holidays,” Goras said.
In early January 2017, more than 20 educational institutions in the country stopped working because of low temperatures and heavy snowfalls or technical malfunction of heating system.
