Moldovan foreign minister conveys congratulatory message on diplomat day

Chisinau, 17 January /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur has conveyed a congratulatory message on the occasion of the Diplomat Day, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.   

The message reads:

“Dear members of the diplomatic service,  

I am particularly honoured to address you cordial congratulations on the occasion of the Diplomat day, along with warm wishes of nice achievements in the noble activity both in Chisinau, at the ministry’s central apparatus, and at the country’s  40 diplomatic missions and consular offices from abroad.      

The proposal to declare the date of 17 January as our professional day is closely connected with the historical decision from 1992, when we submitted the application on Moldova joining the United Nations Organization; this fact marked the beginning of the process of strengthening and self-assertion of our country as subject of the international law, and as a result, led to the boosting of the diplomatic activity. Thus, in 2017, we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations with 64 countries of the world.     

On this special occasion, I highlight that our efforts and active cooperation with the 141 countries, with which we have set diplomatic ties, are aimed at representing the state at the high level and in order to promote the national interests and protect the rights of our fellow countrymen from all over the world. Thus, let me thank you for your responsibility and full involvement, including through important personal sacrifices, as well as the ones of the families of Moldovan diplomats.   

Also, thoughts of good and appreciation are addressed to all those who worked with devotion, honestly and with good faith for the prosperity of Moldova’s diplomatic service in all the years of the country’s Independence.    

Expressing deep gratitude for the self-abnegation you prove, may this day bring you new success in the professional field and personally.”
