Moldovan PM conveys congratulatory message on diplomat day

Chisinau, 17 January /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of professional holiday, the Day of the diplomat, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The message reads:

"With great pleasure, I should like to send to you the most beautiful greetings and good wishes to all employees of the diplomatic service of the Republic of Moldova on the occasion of professional holiday, the Day of the diplomat, which is marked annually on 17 January.

The formal instituting of the professional Day of the Diplomat in 2014, alongside with some other days of employees from other professional areas of public service set forth above, is meant to demonstrate the importance and its role to that category of civil servants in Moldova's development. The profession of diplomat has always been one of the most prestigious and noble one, which vocation is to help prevent and solve conflicts, and to promote the interests of a state on the international arena. I think, that is the reason why many young people dream of a diplomat career, wishing to enroll in educational institutions in diplomacy and international relations.

Moldova is in great need of passionate diplomats, active, to represent strongly our interests abroad. It is important to invest in human capital and strengthen our country's continuous diplomatic corps. We live in difficult times internationally and it is important for Moldova to be on the top of the agenda of major global capitals. On this occasion, I should like to mention, in particular, the special contribution of the diplomatic service of the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and diplomatic and consular missions, in promoting the interests of Moldova at international forums and in relations with other states.

I emphasize, in particular, the contribution of Moldovan diplomats to secure favorable external conditions to carry out reforms and modernization of society, advancing the process of settling the Transnistrian conflict, promoting exports of Moldovan products and attract foreign investments, defending the interests of our citizens abroad, promotion a positive image of Moldova. The Association Agreement with the European Union is the best proof that diplomacy has a key role in support for European vector, remaining the country draft of Moldova.

I should like to wish once again to all Moldovan diplomatic service workers  successes beautiful and new achievements in the realm of diplomacy and foreign policy, to contribute effectively and continue to ensure sustainable socio-economic development and raising the living standards of all citizens of Moldova".
