Moldovan students' scholarships to be indexed by five per cent

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - The scholarships of the students from the higher education institutions and the pupils of the vocational post-secondary and secondary education establishments, as well as of the persons studying in the post-graduate education will be indexed by five per cent starting from 1 January 2017, under a decision passed by the cabinet at a today meeting.

Thus, the students will receive a scholarship worth from 630 to 800 lei and pupils of the vocational post-secondary education establishments – from 480 to 630 lei, depending on the category of the institution. The Scholarship of the Republic, following the increase, will stand at 1,385 lei, the one of the President of Moldova – 1,260 lei, and the Scholarship of the Government – 1,155 lei.  

The reformation of the scholarships’ system will contribute to a better quality of education and academic performance of the pupils and students, the Education Ministry said.
