Chisinau to host business forum with participation of Moldovan, Austrian business environments

Chisinau, 19 January /MOLDPRES/ - A business forum with the participation of the business environment from Moldova and Austria will be organized in Chisinau on 2-4 February. Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Octavian Calmic and Austrian Ambassador to Moldova Christine Freilinger discussed the issue at a meeting today.
The Economics Ministry’s press service has said that Austrian companies working in Romania and intending to extend their business on the Moldovan market, as well as 20 new enterprises from Austria, which regard the Moldovan market as attractive for investments, would take part in the forum.
In the context, the Austrian diplomat said the Vienna authorities were interested in the development of the Moldova-Austria relations, which had had a success story on the last years, including through carrying out new investment projects in constructions, infrastructure, IT, medicine, education, tourism and other sectors.
For his part, Deputy Prime Minister Octavian Calmic appreciated the present stage of the commercial and economic ties between the two states. He stressed that a good platform for boosting the relations had also represented an investment forum titled, Day of investment and business opportunities of Moldova, organized in Bucharest two years ago by the Economics Ministry for the Austrian companies working in Romania.
Data by the State Registration Chamber shows that there are 96 enterprises with Austrian capital working in Moldova, with the investments in the registered share capital standing at about 404 million lei. Austria ranks ninth among the partner countries of Moldova according to the value of the capital invested.
