Moldovan-Polish ministerial consultations held in Chisinau

Chisinau, 20 January /MOLDPRES/ – Chisinau hosted today a new round of Moldovan-Polish consultations at the level of deputy ministers of Foreign Affairs, the Moldovan side was represented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Lilian Darii and the Polish Vice-Secretary of State for European Policy and Security Marek Ziółkowski, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
During the consultations, it was a wide exchange of views on the current issues on the agenda of the Moldovan-Polish bilateral relations and issues of regional security and Moldova's European integration.
Deputy Minister Darii noted the positive dynamics in the development of the Moldovan-Polish cooperation in various fields and reiterated our interest in promoting further political dialogue at various levels and increasing exchanges in trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian issues. He underlined, in particular, good cooperation at the inter-regional level, invoking the contribution of local authorities and six honorary consulates of Moldova in Poland.
The Moldovan official referred, also to the concerns of Moldovan authorities against the challenges and threats to regional security, mentioning, in particular, those efforts to identify the negotiations in "5 + 2" format of a comprehensive and lasting solution of the Transnistrian problem, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova and the adoption of a special status for Transnistria. Lilian Darii reiterated the firm determination of the Moldovan government to implement the reform agenda stemming from the Association Agreement with the European Union and thanked Poland for its support in this regard.
At his part, Vice-Secretary of State Marek Ziółkowski highly appreciated the progress in the development of bilateral relations between Moldova and Poland, confirming the Polish government's willingness to further support Moldova in implementing structural reforms and achieving the targets under its European agenda. The Polish diplomat reiterated his Government's political will to continue to support the efforts to settle the Transnistrian conflict through negotiation policy, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova.
