Moldovan specialists to be trained in energy efficiency

Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/- Over 20 representatives of the business environment and local public administration from Drochia, Donduseni, Glodeni, Falesti, as well as from Balti municipality will be trained in optimizing energy consumption, reducing losses and managing energy resources.
Financially supported by the European Union, the Balti branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry launched yesterday European Energy Manager training programme –EUREM. The event is organized within the European project on confidence building between the people of both banks of the Dniestre. Similar courses also take place in Transnistria.
The director of the Balti chamber, Galina Codita, said “training aims at preparing highly qualified energy managers, according to the Law on Energy Efficiency, document governing the activities meant to reduce the energy intensity of the national economy and alleviate the impact of the energy sector on the environment. Course participants will gain skills they will implement to save energy in the company they work, buildings of public institutions in the district and private dwellings”, the quoted source reads.
Attending the event, project manager Maxim Cataranciuc said that the training was carried out within the programme “Support to Confidence Building Measures”, funded by the EU and implemented by UNDP Moldova. “EUREM represents a standard programme of training energy managers, conducted in 27 countries, including in the EU member states. Similar trainings are held in Chisinau and Transnistria, and finally, best participants will do an internship in Germany,” Cataranciuc said.
EUREM trainings will last till April 2017. After taking the examination, energy managers will get a certificate recognized internationally.
