Moldovan president decides to promote CSM nominated candidates to leadership positions in courts

Chisinau, 26 January /MOLDPRES/ – President, Igor Dodon, decided to promote to positions of chairman and vice chairman of the newly established courts, those 12 candidates nominated by Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM). At the same time, the President decided to dismiss other 10 candidates, the presidential press service has reported.
During the meeting with CSM’s head and promoted candidates, it was held a dialogue on the current situation of the judiciary, the courts’ reform in process of implementation, perception of society of the entire judicial system.
During the dialogue, the Moldovan president warned the future chiefs that they had direct responsibility for implementing judicial reform.
The Head of State reiterated that the judiciary power was independent and impartial, where could not remain space for political influence over the judicial process.
