Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/ – The Moldovan authorities noted with dismay the recent decision by Tiraspol leader Vadim Krasnoselskiy to appoint a " plenipotentiary representative" of Transnistria in the Russian Federation and to open a "representative of Transnistria" in Moscow, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
In this connection, the Foreign Ministry declares that the act is illegal and illegitimate, given that it is contrary as the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, so the principles and generally accepted norms of international law.
The Foreign Ministry expects that the Russian authorities will not accept the demand of Tiraspol and will confirm the commitment on which they made to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova, enshrined in the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation.
