Archive, library of Moldovan parliament to be digitized

Chisinau, 30 January /MOLDPRES/- Archive and library of parliament will be digitized, paper support documents are to be scanned and stored electronically, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
Digital archive concept was presented to officials of the parliament secretariat subdivisions by an international expert in digitization Avinash Bikha. The talks were held in a workshop attended by deputy secretary general of parliament Igor Klipii.
Under the concept, the files of draft laws, stenograms of plenary meetings of parliament, reports of meetings of standing committees, comparative law studies, analytical materials, reports, internal documents will be digitized. These are to be stored on a platform of institutional electronic storage, which will be accessible online.
In December 2016, the international expert and employees of the parliament secretariat had a lot of talks for analysis and assessment of the situation. Also, there were held visits to National Archive of Moldova, as well as to three out of seven higher education institutions in the country that hold digital archives.
The Moldovan parliament archive includes over 2,000 files, a file containing nearly 300 pages. The parliament library has a book collection of about 5,000 copies and 120 names and periodicals.
Digitizing the archive and library of parliament is carried out within the project “Concept of digital archive of Moldovan Parliament”, implemented with the UNDP Moldova support.
