Chisinau, 30 January /MOLDPRES/ - The news on the passing away of master Ion Ungureanu distressed us by the loss of a MAN who dedicated his life to the national ideals, fight for the identity and strengthening the national values, whose work will always remain in the cultural heritage of Moldova.
Master Ion Ungureanu devoted all his life to the country’s cultural development by the activity of stage manager, theatre and film actor, writer, as well as through the administrative and political activity as MP and the first culture minister of Moldova (1990-1994).
In his capacity of minister, he created theatres, set the monument to the Capitoline Wolf in the square of the National History Museum and re-set the monument to Stefan cel Mare to his initial place. He managed, despite the existential conditions, to create true values in theatre as stage manager, as actor in movies.
The lessons of life, history and culture of the master, when reading the country’s Declaration of Independence on the Chisinau-based Great National Assembly Square, holding dialogues with his admirers, training disciples or outlining the trends of development of the national culture and the country, will remain in our memory. The parts in movies and plays, the kindness and happiness master Ungureanu managed to arouse in our soles are alive.
We owe our respect to the one who was Ion Ungureanu and we feel, along will all beauty lovers, the huge void the titan of the national theatre leaves behind him. God creates through people. He gave this nation Ion Ungureanu, who lighted our way through the historical labyrinth of this land.
We express our sympathy to the family and all close people, who admired and valued him as a man and exceptional personality of the national culture.
May he rest in peace.
