Moldovan political parties recording performances in polls to receive budget allocations

Chisinau, 31 January /MOLDPRES/ – The political parties which achieved performances in parliamentary elections of 30 November 2014 and general local elections of 14 June 2015 will receive 40 million lei from the state budget, according to the Central Election Commission’s (CEC) decision approved on 31 January 2017.
According to the decision, 50 per cent of the total amount will be allocated to the political parties which obtained performances in the parliamentary elections of 30 November 2014 and 50 per cent to formations that registered performances in the general local elections of 14 June 2015.
As such, for each valid vote expressed, the monthly subsidy amount is 1.11 lei in the parliamentary elections, while the amount of monthly subsidy for each valid vote expressed in local elections is about 0.47 lei.
The CEC’s chairman, Alina Russu, said that to benefit from those grants, it was required that the political parties to open bank accounts approved for that purpose with the financial operation, informing the institution on it, and then that money would be transferred to parties.
