Moldovan army joins 22 Push - up Challenge action

Chisinau, 01 February /MOLDPRES/ – Over 500 National Army joined "22 Push – up Challenge" action, in solidarity with the participants in the battle affected by post-traumatic stress syndrome.
According to the Public Relations Service of the Ministry of Defence officers and non-commissioned officers of Peacekeeping Battalion 22, Battalion of special purpose, Battalion of Guards, students of the Military Academy of the Armed Forces "Alexandru cel Bun", but also the National Army military contingent, posted KFOR operation in Kosovo, executed 22 push – ups and they encouraged their colleagues from USA, Romania and the countries of the Western group of KFOR Multinational Force, to follow their example.
"22 Push – up Challenge" is an initiative initiated in 2011 by a US veteran, participant of Operation "Enduring Freedom" (Operation Enduring Freedom) in Afghanistan and founder of the organization "22Kill" which aims to raise public awareness on suicide among veterans and participants in the military battles, affected by post-traumatic stress syndrome.
According to statistics, every day in the US are reported 22 suicides among American veterans, reason why military men respond to that challenge by means of 22 push – ups every day for 22 days consequently.
