Moldova, Bulgaria mark 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations' establishment

Chisinau, 6 February /MOLDPRES/ - The foreign ministers of Moldova and Bulgaria exchanged congratulatory messages on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Moldovan-Bulgarian diplomatic relations on 5 February 2017, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
The head of the Moldovan diplomacy, Andrei Galbur, said that, in the 25 years since the setting of the diplomatic ties, Moldova and Bulgaria had shared a deep friendship, based on mutual respect between the two nations, which continues to be strengthened by the diversity of political contacts at all levels and cooperation in more sectors, especially in the field of Moldova’s European integration. The official also highlighted the significant contribution of ethnic Bulgarians from Moldova to the consolidation and modernization of the country in its European integration.
For his part, Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov highlighted the advanced character of the Moldovan-Bulgarian relations. He emphasized many opportunities opened for both states following the signing by Moldova of the Association Agreement with EU and Bulgaria’s willingness to share with Moldova its experience as European Union member country. The head of the Bulgarian diplomacy stressed the role of the Bulgarian community, which has been living in Moldova for centuries and contributes to developing the bilateral ties.
The launch of a post stamp, stamp with special obliteration and an envelope, issued on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Moldovan-Bulgarian diplomatic relations’ establishment, took place in Chisinau.
Moldova established diplomatic relations with Bulgaria on 5 February 1992.
