Chisinau International Airport's staff, passengers evacuated following bomb alert

Chisinau, 7 February /MOLDPRES/ - The staff and passengers of the Chisinau International Airport today were evacuated following a bomb alert, the press officer of the Border Police, Irina Luca, has told MOLDPRES.
According to Luca, at about 15:30, border policemen of the Chisinau International Airport border checkpoint received an electronic letter from an unknown person, reading that the airport is minted and financial compensations are demanded.
“Immediately, Border Police employees informed all entities providing services at the airport, in order to enhance security measures; also all intervention teams of the Interior Ministry’s specialized services were mobilized. Presently, the process of passengers’ registration was ceased and planes are to take off with delay,” Irina Luca said.
At the same time, a group of interventions, made up of investigation officers and criminal prosecution officers of the Border Police started actions of identifying the person who signaled the existence of the bomb.
