Moldovan president meets European Commission Vice President

Chisinau, 07 February /MOLDPRES/ – President Igor Dodon held a meeting in Brussels today with Antonio Tajani, European Parliament President, the presidential press service has reported.
At the meeting, the sides discussed the presidential election ballot, electoral legislation inter – parliamentary cooperation, matters concerning reforms for implementation in Chisinau, on possible options regarding the Transnistrian conflict settlement.
Antonio Tajani said that the European and, especially, the European Parliament highly assessed the mode of development of the presidential elections in Moldova, noting that these met international standards, being free, democratic and fair.
In another context, Igor Dodon invited Antonio Tajani, recently elected, to undertake an official visit to Moldova.
"I have had an impression that we know each other for a life. I am sure we shall be good friends. From the meetings we have had so far, I can assure you that we shall communicate effectively both in the East and in the West. That distinguishes us from those who are now in power," said Igor Dodon.
