Moldovan, European officials approach important issues

Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/- On an official visit to Brussels, President Igor Dodon had a meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Junker, the presidential press service has reported.
Dodon thanked for the assistance provided to Moldova over the past years, especially, the financial, implementation of investment projects in infrastructure, visa free regime.
At the same time, the president noted that the assistance, except for the liberalized visa regime, had not been felt by ordinary citizens of Moldova, firstly because of corrupt government during the years in the country, covering the name of pro-European. The head of state underlined that fighting corruption, real reforms in prosecution, independence of justice and media would be the priority actions that should be drawn attention both in the country and outside.
Also, the president talked to Jean-Claude Junker about the need to urgently restore the relations with Russia, especially, in trade sector. “Discussions in the format – Moldova, Russia and EU would be a possibility and mechanism for returning to normal in these relations and removal of the existing bottlenecks”, Dodon said.
