Business people from Moldova, United Arab Emirates assemble at ecomnomic forum in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/ - Business people from Moldova and United Arab Emirates (UAE) assembled at an economic in Chisinau today. The event’s goal was to familiarize the business environment from UAE with Moldova’s investment and export opportunities, to promote the business dialogue and set bilateral partnerships.
Attending the opening of the forum, Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Octavian Calmic noted that the present event was a good opportunity to establish contacts between the business environments from the two countries. Moldova has a small economy, yet, we try to diversify it by building another model, from the one based on consumption to the one based on investments, Calmic said. He specified that “we must follow the example of the United Arab Emirates, as this state is not only a distributor of goods, but also of services.”
For his part, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori informed that his country was the third one in the world providing funds for investment to other states, and “on this occasion, we encourage all states to do the same, especially to provide support to developing countries.” He voiced hope that, following bilateral meetings, due within the forum, the business environments from the two countries would sign as many cooperation contracts as possible.
At the same time, Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori invited economic agents from Moldova to visit the United Arab Emirates next spring and to cooperate with partners from his country. “We are open for collaboration and exchange of experience,” the UAE official stressed.
Attending the forum were about 100 enterprises from Moldova, as well as representatives of more than 20 companies from the United Arab Emirates.
