Moldova's national centre of radio frequencies to be reorganized

Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/ - The state enterprise, National Centre of Radio Frequencies, will be reorganized by transformation into a public institution titled, National Service of Management of Radio Frequencies and Cyber Security, under a decision approved at a today’s cabinet meeting.
According to the government decision, the National Service of Management of Radio Frequencies and Cyber Security is a public institution with financial autonomy, the financing of which is carried out with money got from services provided. The incomes accumulated from the tariffs collected for providing of services, which will not account for the institution’s annual budget, are transferred to the state budget.
The reorganization of the National Centre of Radio Frequencies is prompted by the need to organize and coordinate the process of implementing the system of management of the cyber security of the information systems and resources, electronic communications networks, the draft’s authors said. The creation of the new institution is provided for in Moldova’s national programme on cyber security for 2016-2020. At the same time, the Information Technology Ministry ascertains lack of institutional and financial capacities needed to achieve the goals set in the programme.
The new institution, additionally to the present powers, will carry out studies and researches in the cyber security sector, will work out and present proposals on amending the current legislative and normative framework and other objectives.
