Moldovan drivers to be able to pay vignette online

Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in the beginning of a today’s meeting, repeatedly brought for discussion the topic on issuance of vignettes when crossing the state border, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

“I demanded that you see what is happening at customs when queues appear because of the vignette payment procedure. I asked the Finance Ministry, Transport and Roads Infrastructure Ministry and the Customs Service to identify solutions for the procedure of vignette payment to not represent an obstacle to crossing the border,” the PM said.

In this context, the prime minister was informed about measures undertaken to simplify the mechanism of collecting the tax for the vignette. Thus, starting from 20 February, the vignette will be able to be paid online, as well as at all desks of Moldova Agroindbank, which have offices at border checkpoints and all over country.

At the same time, the control over the vignette is to be carried out by the Customs Service only at the exit from Moldova and a soft e-vignette is to be implemented to remove all problems concerning the vignette.
