Over 600 pupils missing classes due to bad weather conditions

Chisinau, 9 February /MOLDPRES/- An educational institution in the country today ceased activity, and pupils from ten settlements were not transported to district schools, due to bad weather conditions.

According to the Education Ministry’s press service, because of technical problems in lyceum Ciumai, Taraclia district, it has stopped activity, following the low temperatures in recent days. Also, due to icy roads pupils were not transported on ten routes from Taraclia, Cantemir and Straseni districts. Thus, 612 pupils had not been transported to the district institutions.

In other districts, as well as in Balti and Chisinau municipalities, all educational institutions are operating as ordinary.

The State Hydrometeorological Service announced frosty weather, and daily air temperature will drop to – 12 degrees next days.
