Moldovan speaker presents investment opportunities in London

Chisinau, 9 February /MOLDPRES/- Projects that could be developed in Moldova with the support of the Royal House of the United Kingdom were discussed at a lunch by Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu at Buckingham Palace. The meeting took place on the sidelines of working visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
On this occasion, the speaker transmitted a set of wines Purcari, company that it seemed to be in the past one of wine providers for the Royal House of the UK. The sides discussed more projects and activities held by the Royal Family in other parts of the world and the possibility to extend them in Moldova.
Candu was accompanied at the Palace by Prince Radu of Romania. The two officials had a meeting with Lord Mayor, head of the City of London Corporation Andrew Parmley, and tackled business opportunities and presented pro-business position of the Moldovan authorities. The Lord Mayor was impressed by the history of Moldovan wine. According to him, investors in the UK are interested in free trade, cross-border investments and new opportunities.
Andrew Parmley is the mayor of the City of London, with the rank of minister and head of the City of London Corporation. He has an important role to promote London businesses abroad. He also serves as chancellor of the City University of London.
Along with Prince Radu of Romania, Candu visited Invictus Games Foundation. The speaker approached the possibility of involvement of Moldovan heroes, who serving their country, were injured and came to have a disability in invincible team.
Also, Candu visited University of Kent, where some young people born in Moldova are already studying. The speaker and Prince Radu of Romania talked to teachers, students and administration of the institution about new studies and research opportunities.
The speaker is on a working visit to the UK on 6-8 February 2017.
