Chisinau, 10 February /MOLDPRES/ - Twelve companies members of the Moldova Fruct Association on 8-10 February participate in the 25th issue of the International Exhibition Fruit Logistica, held in Berlin, Germany.

According to project manager at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Moldova, Dumitru Vasilescu, Fruit Logistica is the biggest European exhibition dedicated to fresh food products. The event annually takes place in Germany’s capital and brings together over 2,800 participating companies and more than 70,000 visitors each year.

Vasilescu informed that Moldovan Ambassador to Germany Oleg Serebrian had participated in the opening of the exhibition. Serebrian said that “it is gratifying the fact that, after a certain break, a larger number of producers from Moldova is present at such a large-scale event. Both the quality of the goods exhibited and the way they are presented is exemplary, and at a distance of five years, the progress is visible. Moldova has a huge potential to be known and to sell its goods,” the diplomat said.

Moldovan companies’ participation in Fruit Logistica was possible with the support of UNDP, through a project financed by the governments of Norway and Romania, with the financial backing of the Moldovan Investments Attraction and Export Promotion Organization (MIEPO) and in partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation and the Moldova Fruct Association.

Starting from 2011, UNDP Moldova and Moldova Fruct Association have been supporting Moldovan producers and exporters to take part in this important event, Dumitru Vasilescu added.
