Moldova, Ukraine sign roadmap on developing cooperation between states for 2017

Chisinau, 13 February /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Ukrainian Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman, today signed the Roadmap on developing of Moldovan-Ukrainian cooperation for 2017, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The document sets out the priority directions of further development of cooperation between Moldova and Ukraine in various fields in order to strengthen democratic institutions, fighting corruption and improving business environment. In this context, parts will take steps to increase trade between Moldova and Ukraine, enhance cooperation in electricity supply field and develop measures to ensure natural gas supply under the reverse, in case of emergency situations.
The signatory parts will join efforts to sign agreements on the liberalization of road and air traffic between Moldova and Ukraine, with further integration of parts into the European transport corridors. Consequently, by attracting funds allocated by European Commission, it is planned to introduce joint control at international crossing point "Pervomaisk-Cuciurgan" and crossing points "Mayak-Palanca-Udobnoe" and "Giurgiulesti-Reni". Also, Roadmap for developing Moldovan-Ukrainian cooperation for 2017 relates to improve the environmental situation in the Dniester River Basin and establish the operating conditions of the Dniester Hydropower Complex.
At the joint meeting of the representatives of the Governments of Chisinau and Kiev, heads of border guard services of Moldova and Ukraine signed the Protocol between the Department of Border Police and the State Border Service Administration of Ukraine on checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Moldovan state border. Also, they signed the document regulating the basic technological principles concerning the organization of exchange of information on persons and vehicles crossing the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border.
