Moldovan parliamentary commission selects candidate for director position of ANRE Managing Board

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/- The parliamentary commission on economy, budget and finance has selected Tudor Copaci as director of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) Managing Board, head Stefan Creanga announced today. Copaci has accumulated the most points (821) after hearings of the commission, and he is to be proposed to the parliament for approval as a candidate for the ANRE director.
Copaci is currently director of the Public Procurement Agency of the Economics Ministry, a post he held in 2009-2013. In 2008-2009 and in 2013-2015, he served as deputy minister of economy, responsible for energy sector. In January-September 2016, he held the position of Secretary General of Government.
Ten candidates participated in final contest. Former head of ANRE Victor Parlicov picked up 750 points, ranking second, then Vasile Daud – 615, Alexandru Lupan – 597, Mihail Cernei -545.
Several representatives of civil society and energy experts have earlier proposed that future directors of ANRE Managing Board be elected by a special commission, based on the one that has selected the National Bank governor. Hearings of the commission were held behind closed doors.
