Moldovan cabinet to earmark 14.5 million lei to remove consequences of natural calamities

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers, at a today’s meeting, approved the earmarking of 14.5 million lei from the government’s intervention fund to remove consequences of natural calamities, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Most of the sum, nine million lei, will be allocated to the Material Reserves Agency, in order to recover the spending for the assets transmitted from state material reserves to liquidate the consequences of the strong wind with hail from last June. Another 3.9 million lei will be transferred to the Edinet district council for works of reconstructing a bridge of access to the Trinca village, damaged in the wake of the heavy rainfall from the summer of 2014.
The rest of the money is meant to remove the consequences of natural calamities from the districts of Leova, Floresti, Ungheni and Soroca, as well as for the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service and the state enterprise State Administration of Roads.
Public authorities are to prepare needed documents. Subsequently, the Finance Ministry will cover the aforementioned expenditures.
The government’s intervention fund is meant for financing urgent spending dealing with the liquidation of the consequences of natural calamities, in case of epidemics, as well as other emergency situations.
