USA provides new military equipment to National Army

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - The National Army has received a new consignment of military equipment from the Government of the United States, made up of 41 equipment units.

According to the head of the National Army’s Logistics Department, colonel Iurie Bruma, the consignment comprises units of High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) and trucks and was donated to Moldova based on a cooperation agreement between the Moldovan and U.S. governments, signed on 21 March 1994.

Bruma noted that 34 military vehicles had been already brought to Moldova and another seven are to be received by the National Army till the end of the first quarter of 2017. The equipment will be used by Moldovan servicemen at national and international exercises.
